Harriet Tubman was born into slavery on 1822 March in Dorchester County, Maryland, United States. Her nickname is “Moses”. Tubman was naturally introduced to servitude, she escaped and subsequently made nearly 13 missions to save around 70 oppressed individuals, including family and friends, utilizing the organization of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad.

During the American Civil War, she filled in as a furnished scout and spy for the Union Army. In her later years, Tubman was a lobbyist in the movement for ladies’ suffrage.
